Thinking of a Second Home Abroad?

Thinking of a Second Home Abroad?

Ever dream of living abroad or maybe just having a vacation home in a beautiful location but think there is no way you can afford it?  Well...you may want to think again.  There are many places around the globe that offer outstanding values for second homes.  Here are some of them:

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Ten years after the peso took a nose dive, bargains still abound for people who are willing to act quickly as the peso continues to rebound.

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Centered around an arts an crafts center founded in 1296, this land area features misty hills, rice fields and unspoiled jungle.  It is possible to purchase a two bedroom home for under $50,000 U.S.

Costa Maya and Laguna Bacalar, Mexico

Costa Maya has been pegged by the Mexican government as the next major tourist destination along the Mayan Riviera and the government is investing millions in infrastructure.  In the meantime, prices still remain very attractive.

Laguna Bacalar was called the Lake of Seven Colors by the Mayans and was believed to be a magical place.  It remains relatively undiscovered, but as development continues in the area it will not go overlooked for long.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

This former city state once rivaled Venice, dates back more than 1,300 years and is considered the Pearl of the Adriatic.  Croatia is petitioning to join the European Union.  Once they join, prices are sure to go up.

La Ceiba, Honduras

La Ceiba is the third largest city in Honduras and is well know for ecological tourism and agrigulture.  La Ceiba's terrain features mountains, rivers, and Carribean beaches.  Construction prices start at $35 per square foot for a simple wood house.

Montenegro

This country, bordered by Albania, Bosnia, Herzegovina and the Adriatic Sea, offers homes at around $75 per square foot.  Home prices near the coast have been pushed up to around $150 to $200 per square foot by Russian buyers.

Pacific Coast of Nicaraqua

This area remains one of the world's best bargains.  The dramatic coastline features rugged shores, cliffs, rocks, crashing surf, hidden coves, and pinkish white sand.  Prices are less than one-quarter to one-tenth the prices of Costa Rica or Southern California respectively.

Panama City and Volcan, Panama

This area will surprise you with its infrastructure, cultural diversity, and sophistication.  Panama City has a glut of first class property in a city of over 1 million people.

Volcan offers a Spring-like climate year round, fresh mountain air and beautiful scenery.  What this location does not have in infrastructure it makes up for in beauty and you will spend half as much here.
