I attended the University of Texas in Austin, Texas where I joined the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity and learned I was not cut out to be an engineer. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Radio-Television-Film Communication in 1990.
After graduating from the University of Texas, I went home to McAllen to look for work and found employment with McAllen Bag and Supply where I had the opportunity to assist the Operations Manager with his duties and sell packaging supplies to large agricultural accounts in three states and manufacturing operations in the Rio Grande Valley and Northern Mexico.
In 1993, a friend from college persuaded me to move to Houston to help him start a company providing management consulting services. When our management styles started to conflict two years later, I was introduced to the mortgage servicing industry.
I worked in the mortgage servicing industry for eight years in the areas of mortgage field services, REO asset disposition, investor compliance and document operations for companies such as Superior Home Services, GE Capital Mortgage Services, Mellon Mortgage, and Chase Home Mortgage.
During my time in mortgage servicing I began to take an interest in real estate investing. I reasoned that the best way to learn the market was to work in it and obtained my real estate license in 2001. Soon after I obtained my real estate license, I realized I liked real estate far better than what I was already doing at the time and made the switch to working in real estate full time and haven't looked back.
Shortly after marrying in 1996, my wife Christina and I went back to school and obtained Master of Business Administration degrees with an emphasis in Finance from the University of St. Thomas here in Houston.
Today, after working for almost a decade under two of real estate's largest franchise networks, I am broker/owner of Great Spring Real Estate and thoroughly enjoy what I do. I love helping people solve their problems whatever they may be. I continually strive to "sharpen the saw" by educating myself on the market and the latest marketing tools to better serve my clients.
I am an active tennis player at Copperfield Racquet and Health Club where I participate in both in house and traveling leagues. I enjoy golf whenever I can fit it in and am looking forward to boating again when I get my boat overhauled.
I have a beautiful wife and two handsome young boys ages 5 and 7 that keep me on my toes. I am blessed to have them in my life.
