Houston National Golf Club

Nestled in the Stone Gate subdivision in Northwest Houston is the Houston National Golf Club (http://www.houstonnationalgolf.com/). This links style course offers 27 challenging holes with open undulating fairways and plenty of bunkers and water hazards. Bring your sunscreen as there are precious few trees to provide shade in Summer. This course makes you think. Houston National now offers GPS systems on carts that give you advice on how to play each hole and accurate distances to the pin.

Cypress Lakes Golf Club

Cypress Lakes Golf Club in Cypress in Cypress Mill subdivision (http://www.cypresslakesgc.com/), designed by Jim Fazio, has been recognized as having the best greens in Houston. Designed to be challenging and fair.

Jersey Meadow Golf Course

Jersey Meadow Golf Course (http://www.jerseymeadow.com/), is nestled in the township of Jersey Village and features 18 holes of fairways lined by mature oak trees, water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. This course was recently renovated with new greens, club house and driving range in 2004. The layout rewards accuracy and makes you pay when you miss.

Bear Creek Golf World

Bear Creek Golf World (www.golfersweb.com/golfhous/bear.htm) is located in West Houston off of North Highway 6 near Clay Road. This facility offers three full 18 hole golf courses of different lengths (4,432 yards to 7,131 yards) from mildly challenging (Challenger Course) to very challenging (Master's Course).

Terre Verde

Terre Verde (www.terraverdegolf.com/), formerly known as Houston Oaks, is located in Hockley, Texas just Northwest of Houston. This beautiful course is lined by gorgeous 100 year old oak trees which can cause you problems if you're not careful.

Gleannloch Farms Golf Club

Heron Lakes Golf Course

Heron Lakes Golf Course (www.heronlakesgc.com/) is located in Northest Houston off of the Sam Houston tollway across from the Sam Houston Race Park in the Heron Lakes Estates subdivision. This 18 hole course is shorter than most and rewards accuracy, not distance.

Black Horse Golf Club

This beautiful well maintained course is located just off North Fry Road, South of Highway 290 in Cypress, TX.  This course features many unique and challenging holes that make for an enjoyable, if not frustrating, round of golf.  Conditions remain near perfect for year round play.

Longwood Golf Club

A Palmer owned course, this course is nestled in the highly wooded Longwood subdivision near the intersection of Huffmeister and Louetta in Northwest Harris County.  This course offers 27 holes of challenging golf including one hole with a "blind" tee shot where you can't even see the fairway.  This heavily wooded course is very picturesque and challenges your creativity at times.  It is not uncommon to see deer grazing nearby.  The operators even offer some outstanding mid-week specials as an inducement to play hooky from work.
